Founded 2021 by Rikky Pink and Jeff Nicholls — a designer-engineer and an engineer-designer who'd had enough of agency-of-many. The studio stayed founder-led on purpose, and now ships work for companies in five timezones, from London to Auckland. Everything else here follows from that.

The agency model broke. So we left it.
Both founders came from agency-of-many backgrounds — the layered handoffs, the junior-offshore-team rebrand, the account manager who hadn't opened the codebase. The work that landed in production was always the work the senior engineers actually got their hands dirty on.
Stackpulse is the smallest version of that observation we could ship: senior people, no buffer, no handover. The founders pitch and scope every project — and stay accountable to it through delivery and operation. The team behind us — engineers in Teesside, the place we hire from — gives us the depth to take on more work without losing that closeness.
We started the studio in 2021 with one client. Five years later we're running 29 live sites across ecommerce, B2B, services and SaaS — for companies in the UK, the EU, the US and Australia — plus the FeedPulse suite of products. Same founders. Bigger reach. By design.

Middlesbrough. Specifically.
We're based in Teesside — 54.5742° N, 1.2349° W. There are good engineering teams in the North East and almost no studios that work the way we do. Being here, not London, is part of how the price model adds up.
The founders are co-located in Teesside; the rest of the team works remote across the UK. Every project gets a shared Slack channel and a Friday demo cadence regardless of where the client is — most of our active work is for clients we'll never sit in a room with. Site visits happen when the work calls for them, usually for B2B clients with on-premise systems we need to see in operation.
For international clients we cover GMT working hours by default and stretch into US East and AEST when a project demands it. Async-first, but never out of reach.

Every proposal has three options with three fixed prices. Decline any of them at no cost. We don’t do "time and materials" because it punishes the team that ships fast.
