Trotters had a long-standing online presence but the underlying platform was creaking — slow first paint, no dynamic SEO, and channel feeds that drifted out of sync with stock weekly. They wanted a luxury storefront that felt like the showroom, with the engineering to back it up.

We picked the technology the next engineer to touch this codebase would already understand, then pushed it harder than the marketing pages suggest. Trotters didn't need bleeding-edge — it needed a stack that would still be working in three years.

Headless-light Shopify

Custom Liquid theme rather than a full Hydrogen rebuild — same speed gain at a fraction of the operating cost. Edge cache for catalogue, dynamic for cart.

Programmatic SEO engine

Auto-generated category and material landing pages from the live catalogue. Each page reads as hand-written; we trip-wired the AI-detector gate so we never publish anything that smells synthetic.

AI feed sync via FeedPulse

Google Merchant Center, Meta and Pinterest channels synced in real-time. Anomaly detection flags the sync issues we used to hear about from customer-service tickets.

Checkout and trust polish

Subtle refinements where it matters most — typography, spacing, animation timing on the buy-button, ATF-sized hero. Small details, measurable lift.

The site has been live and unattended for the better part of a year — feed syncs run on schedule, programmatic SEO pages refresh automatically when products are updated, and FeedPulse's anomaly-detection has caught two channel-side issues before Trotters' team noticed. The studio sees the same dashboard the client does.

The Shopify theme is intentionally deliberate — not flashy. Page weight under 800KB on the PDP, INP under 80ms, LCP under 1.6s on mobile. The luxury brief was always about restraint.
